What is a Home Energy Rating?

The energy rating of a house refers to its ability to keep itself warm during cold weather and cool during hot weather. There are two types of ratings used by real estate agents – one called “Energy Star” which indicates whether a particular building has been tested and certified as being environmentally friendly, while another type of rating is based upon the amount of heat generated inside a structure.
